Business Engagement Officer – Accelerating Thermal Energy Technology Adoption (ATETA)

Salary:

Grade 7: £30,395 to £39,609 a year. (Potential progression on performance once in post to £42,036 a year).


The Birmingham Energy Institute is recruiting a team of Business Engagement Officers for the ATETA project, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).  ATETA is a £9.9M programme of activity that supports technology development and adoption across low and zero carbon power systems, heating and cooling, and also clean mobility solutions.  The aim of the project is to provide support for small and medium enterprise across Greater Birmingham and Solihull, The Black Country, Coventry and Warwickshire, and Worcestershire.

The Business Engagement Officer will engage with local businesses in the Energy and related sectors, and working with ATETA Knowledge Exchange Fellows, will translate business need into collaborative research and development project for new products and processes.  The Business Engagement Officer will also provide a platform for companies to engage further with the wider cross-disciplinary and multi-partner funding opportunities.

The posts are funded until end February 2023, and you will join a strong R&D team of 15 for industrial collaborations and technology transfer. ATETA is a strategic project within the Birmingham Energy Institute and is at the heart of University of Birmingham’s industrial outreach for the region.  The ATETA team work closely in support of a number of strategic initiatives including Tyseley Energy Park, Decarbonising Heating and Cooling, and Clean Green Mobility Solutions.

You should have experience of working with industry and university based work experience is desirable.
