Fleet Decarbonisation – TEP
A free-to-attend webinar aimed at HGV and van operators exploring the route they need to take on their journey to decarbonise their fleet.
January 20th, 2022
Engagement with policymakers can enable researchers to use their expertise to contribute to the policy issues facing decision makers in the UK and across the globe.
Demonstrating impact is becoming an increasingly important part of the REF Assessment, so future career development and success may require closer working with policymakers.
Aiming to address this developmental need, and in response to requests from many of our postdoctoral researchers, C-DICE is organising a policy engagement workshop in collaboration with the Institute for Government, which is an independent charity working to increase government effectiveness. The Institute has deep expertise in how UK government works, and conduct original research into policy making, the structures and performance of government, devolution, public services, and digital transformation. It has recently published reports on how academia can better engage with government, and vice versa.
The aim of this workshop is to demystify government and explain how to engage successfully with policy makers. This workshop would be most suitable for researchers who do not have previous experience of engaging with policymakers.
Participants will:
Gain an improved understanding of the governmental landscape
Learn how research and innovation are used in policy making
Learn practical tips for engagement
Hear from early career researchers who have successfully engaged with policymakers
Programme:
Welcome, overview of event
Institute for Government session facilitated by Tom Sasse (Associate Director) and Katie Thorpe (Head of Learning and Development)
Success stories of engaging with policymakers
Closing remarks
Registration (via Inkpath):
