Next for Net Zero: Building an offshore wind super grid

February 8th, 2022

Energy Networks Association are excited to invite you to the first of our new Next for Net Zero event series, showcasing the projects and innovations that are powering us ahead to Net Zero carbon emissions.

The UK has big ambitions for offshore wind, with the government targeting 40GW of capacity by 2030 – enough to power every home in the UK. We will be exploring what is needed to fully deliver on this ambitious target including greater interconnection with Europe and crossovers with hydrogen production. We will be discussing what barriers need to be broken, what policy framework is needed, and taking a closer look at the technology already making a difference.

The session will open with a keynote from Jerome Mayhew MP and a presentation from ENA before we're joined by a panel of experts to answer your questions.

 Speakers:

Jerome Mayhew MP, Member of Parliament for Broadland

Barbara Vest OBE, independent event Chairperson

Asheya Patten, National Grid
